Examiner: Doctor she is still having pain in right kidney.
Candidate: Do you have any ideas as to what is going on ay the moment?
Examiner: No doctor. Can you please share ultrasound results..
Candidate: Let me explain this to you. If you any question or concerns you can interrupt me during my conversation. Would you like to have someone with you while I am talking to you?
Examiner: No doctor I am fine.
Candidate: You brought your kid last week with complaint of right flank pain that persisted for almost 6 months. Such type of pain in this age group is unusual. So we ordered ultrasound abdomen. We have the test results back......................... and I’m sorry to tell you............................... that the cause of the symptoms is more serious. Your child is suffering from what we call in our medical language Wilms tumor and in common words tumor or cancer of kidney. It understand it must be very painful for you and your family.
Examiner: .....................................
Candidate: I can understand what you are going through right now. Fortunately, we caught it early and there are some treatment options like surgical chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Be sure you are in very good hands. Do you have any concerns in particular?
Examiner: Is it a common cancer? what is its prognosis.
Candidate: It is a common kidney cancer in this age and as i told you earlier early treatment has very good results and may result in complete recovery.
Examiner: Who will treat my child?
Candidate: Basically renal tumor is treated by pediatric surgeon. For this i will refer you to a pediatric surgeon as early as possible.
